What are the goals of the program?
The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades intend to inspire and involve teens in meaningful activities and acts of tzedakah that encourage them to bond, collaborate and give with a sense of excitement and purpose. Our hope is for Jewish youth to become passionate about pressing needs in the world so they evolve into caring, giving adults who actively engage in upholding important
How does the program work?
Each participant contributes $250 of their own money. Then the group will work together to
give the combined amount to the organization(s) of their choice. Limited to 20 students in 8th
to 10th grades.
What’s the commitment?
Participants must commit to monthly meetings from November 2013 through May 2014,
occasional phone calls and research outside the regular meetings.
Why Should I Get Involved?
- Meet Jewish teens from all areas of Northern New Jersey.
- Explore and learn about Jewish values as you develop leadership skills.
- Learn about philanthropy and foundations.
- Choose which organizations and programs receive the combined funds.
